IF YOU THINK YOUR PIERCING IS INFECTED- SEE A HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL IMMEDIATELY.
WHAT TO DO:
- SPRAY with sterile saline wound wash 1-2 times a day. Be careful not to over clean!
- RINSE with clean water.
- DRY your piercing with clean gauze or paper towels. Remove any crusties or buildup. We recommend not using a cloth towel for drying as it can snag & damage your piercing/jewelry.

WHAT NOT TO DO:
- Do not twist, turn or rotate your jewelry. This can cause bleeding, swelling & irritation to your piercing.
- Do not sleep on your piercing. Sleeping on the piercing will cause irritation bumps & can cause your piercing to heal crooked.
- Do not use harsh cleaners like alcohol, peroxide, bactine, etc. USE STERILE SALINE ONLY. ;)
- Avoid submering your piercing in ANY bodies of water. NO lakes, rivers, oceans, pools or bathtubs. Showering is okay.
- Be mindful about bumping & snagging. Even small snags to the piercing can delay the healing process.
REMEMBER TO DOWNSIZE!
Downsizing is a crucial but often overlooked part of aftercare.
Almost all piercings are started with a longer piece of jewelry to accommodate swelling during the initial healing period.
You will need to get a shorter flat back or barbell installed once initial swelling has subdued.
It is imperative to the health & healing of your piercing to get your jewelry downsized to avoid unnecessary irritation.
Downsize time varies per piercing & per person.
For most piercings- we recommend seeing your piercer at 6-8 weeks into healing for a downsize.
For oral piercings- downsize time is sooner; usually around 4-6 weeks into healing.
Some piercings require downsizing more than once!
Make sure you keep in contact with your piercer to ensure your piercing is healing the best as possible!
